Boulos and Marçal Clash Physically During SP discussion

The second debate for the São Paulo mayoral race, held on August 14, was marked by intense confusion and personal attacks. The most heated moment occurred between Guilherme Boulos (PSol) and Pablo Marçal (PRTB), when Marçal provoked Boulos with a work permit, leading the deputy to respond by slapping the document.

The debate, organized by Estadão, Terra, and Faap, included participants Ricardo Nunes (MDB), José Luiz Datena (PSDB), Tabata Amaral (PSB), and Marina Helena (Novo). The format, divided into five thematic blocks and one open block, was complicated by misunderstandings about the rules, with candidates complaining about a lack of clarity.

Unlike the previous debate, where Nunes was the main target, the mayor defended himself from direct accusations and criticized opponents for shifting focus from proposals to personal attacks. Datena struggled with time management, while Marina Helena used the platform to reinforce her conservative agenda and formed an alliance with Marçal, positioning themselves as outsiders against the political system.
